Orthopedic massage is a type of injury rehabilitation that focuses on the muscles and soft tissues surrounding joints. The aim of orthopedic massage is to relieve pain while restoring balance to the tissues and create a fuller range of motion. Orthopedic massage is highly effective approach that integrates advanced assessment techniques and targeted treatment strategies. Learning how to Identify the root causes of musculoskeletal dysfunctions will help you create personalized treatment plans to address your clients' specific needs. Orthopedic massage can be used in combination with various modalities, including myofascial release, trigger point therapy, and deep tissue massage, to address complex musculoskeletal issues.
In this interactive hands-on BASIC Introductory class, you will learn:
1. Description of the Modality
2. Account of its historical development
3. Benefits & Contraindications
4. Specific techniques for basic training
Please wear comfortable flexible clothing. Bring 1 set of sheets (flat-fitted-pillowcase), 1 throw blanket, and a pump bottle with your preferred lubricant.
You Do NOT need to bring a table, we have plenty!
CEs only good for Pennsylvania Licensed Massage Therapists – CEs approved by the Pa State Board of Massage Therapy. This class will be with current massage students at the WIofCC however only licensed massage therapists will earn continuing education credits.
