About this event

Interested in learning how to sew but never had the opportunity or a machine to learn on? Join the Friends of Silver Lake Library for a free workshop this summer to learn the fundamentals of sewing using a machine. The workshop will cover:

  • Threading and using a sewing machine (Bring Your Own Machine encouraged, but there will be a limited number of machines available for those that do not have access to one).
  • Straightline sewing basics
  • Making your own tote bag (Bring Your Own Fabric encouraged (~1 yard), but a limited amount of fabric will be available for those that do not have fabric. We encourage you to repurpose an old bedsheet, pillowcase, or other piece of large fabric, as long as the fabric is light-to-medium weight).

This workshop is for adults.
