About the Yoga Practice
Elevate your mind, body, and spirit with Kemetic Vinyasa. Kemetic Vinyasa strings postures (asanas) and breath work (pranayama) together into a fluid sequence of movements. This class creatively incorporates Egyptian postures from the practice of Tjef Neteru Sema Paut (Movements in Unified Company with the Gods & Goddesses) into an energizing and dynamic vinyasa flow to enhance the crown and support the journey towards self-actualization. Focus is not solely on the poses but on the transitions between them. The fluidity of vinyasa can help bring practitioners into a flow state, where the entire mind is absorbed in the present activity. This practice increases flexibility, strength, and balance to transform stress in the body and to create and maintain the power of self-discipline, self-mastery, and unity using the breath. By focusing on the breath to HEAL, we practice this technique of LOVE, maintaining a calm response to life’s challenges, expanding on our abilities to overcome these challenges, and ELEVATE our connection to source and one another.
About Inspired Crown Collective
Our nonprofit exists to bridge the gap between mental health awareness and embodied self-protection by offering trauma-informed, community-centered healing practices. We believe that the holistic movement—yoga, martial arts, and breathwork—can transform lives by strengthening the mind, body, and energy. We strive to make these tools accessible to anyone through pay-what-you-can classes, educational workshops, and online resources, ensuring that financial barriers never stand in the way of healing and empowerment.
About your Instructors
Ta.Ma.R.A Belinda is a Crown Heights native sharing the ancient African practice of Kemetic Yoga. She has been intermittently practicing various forms of yoga since 2009, becoming more focused on listening to her body, weight training, and deep stretching in 2018 to realign her spine from 4 childhood injuries: 3 on her spine and one in her foot. In a continuous discovery of the origins of the human state of being, Ta.Ma.R.A was serendipitously guided towards Kemetic Yoga during the pandemic year of 2020. Learning this modern rendition of an ancient practice of the spine and breath aligned perfectly with her studies of humanity and her creative exploration of crown energy and mathematical design. She received her certification from the Temple of Shetaut Neter in 2021 and currently leads weekly classes in various studios, public parks, and beaches around NYC. When she is not teaching, Ta.Ma.R.A is either crafting, sunset gazing, or dancing.
Qiana Roberts specializes in gentle, breath-centered practices that honor restoration and release. She trained and received Kemetic Yoga certification under Master Yirser Ra Hotep. Her goal is to help you find accessible, nourishing ways to care for your body and spirit—on the mat and beyond. With a foundation in Hatha and Kemetic Yoga, she invites you to slow down, reconnect, and move with intention. Her classes hold space for stillness, reflection, and liberation—using the postures and breathwork not just to stretch the body, but to restore the spirit through a moving meditation. It is a return home, a way to honor our collective ancestry, and to embody balance, strength, and inner peace.
Rootsgod Fender is a multidisciplinary wholistic health specialist, artist, and educator. He is a certified herbalist, certified Sunfired chef, certified Kemetic Yoga practitioner, and studied Music Theater. He specializes in detoxing, Living Food (RA Food), yoga through the Roots Activation Method, sound healing, breath work, and nutrition. As a trained musician, he creates music to elevate and heal with lyricism to inform, motivate, and empower. He is passionate about educating people on nutrition, mindfulness, and movement, our daily medicine for prevention.
