About the Outing Leader: Roland “Boot” Boutwell, a freelance itinerant naturalist, has been leading nature walks for The Friends of the Fells for nearly 25 years. He has also led walks and/or taught botany programs for a number of other organizations including The Trustees of Reservations, Arlington Community Education, The Massachusetts Association of Conservation Commissions, Winchester public schools, Wright-Locke Farm in Winchester, The New England Wild Flower Society and the Massachusetts Audubon Society.

About the Outing: What is so rare as a day in June? It’s early June, and lots of spring wildflowers are in full bloom at Long Pond. Join Boot Boutwell on a slow-paced nature walk which will focus on wildflower identification as well as fun and interesting natural history. As usual, the walk will include a few poems and a reading or two.

Meet at the Long Pond parking lot (opposite #532), South Border Rd, Winchester. PLEASE ARRIVE EARLY, as parking can be tight.
